Mass Humanities seeks a full-time Content Manager to join its ten-person staff based in Northampton. The Content Manager’s primary responsibilities are to support Mass Humanities’ efforts in public awareness, fundraising, content development, and website management. Reporting to the Director of Development and Communications, the successful candidate will work closely with the development and program staff to reshape the visual identity of the organization’s brand, craft print and digital content that makes the case for public support for the humanities, champion the work of the organization and its grantees, and improve the organization’s visibility among donors, media, and its constituents.
The position offers the opportunity for growth, statewide travel, and interaction with local and state government, cultural organizations, media, and higher education. Digital media editing, journalism experience, and bilingual are preferred. Some remote work is possible.
Minimum 2 years in communications, marketing, or journalism.
Demonstrated experience in graphic design and development of nonprofit marketing materials.
Background in digital marketing, including web management, social media, and email newsletters.
The ideal candidate is a well-rounded media professional capable of creating digital content, overseeing social media campaigns, assisting with public events, cultivating local media outlets, and taking the lead in special projects that involve multiple staff and board members.
