Statement of Duties:
Performs varied duties to create and maintain a strong online presence for our senior center. The Social Media and Activities Coordinator is responsible for all center digital and hard copy material. Under the direction of the director, prepares public relations for center using social media platforms.
Coordinates equipment orientation in Fitzgerald Memorial Fitness Center for new members.
Work is performed under the general supervision of the Director of the Council on Aging. Generally, establishes own work plan and completes work in accordance with established department policies and standards.
Associates Degree and/or two (2) years of Experience in related field. Good knowledge of web technologies, protocols and tools. Working knowledge of web authoring, development and publishing tools, experience with computer graphics and multimedia design. Ability to work in a team-oriented environment but with the ability to work independently
Prepare monthly newsletter
Work collaboratively with center staff on projects and programs.
Must have excellent social/interpersonal communication skills and effective verbal and written communication skills.
Familiar with all Google platforms: Google Drive, Calendar and Photos. Experience working with Word, Publisher and Excel.
Maintain and update senior center website and Facebook .
Coordinate media releases and calendar of events for the local newspapers and television stations.
Create and maintain all printed material for senior center.
Ability to coordinate and direct activities and establish and maintain effective working relationships with senior adults, volunteers and visiting agencies.
Other duties as assigned
Work environment is generally performed in an area that is conducive to the activity being performed. Operates computer, telephone and other standard office equipment.
Able to participate in numerous activities throughout the day while sometimes standing or sitting for extended amounts of time.
Coordinate fitness center schedule and assist members with safety and training on equipment.
Attention to detail, responsible, creative thinker, energetic personality, go-getter.
Demonstrate ability to respond appropriately in emergency situations including medical emergencies.
16 - 19-3/4 hour a week position. Some evening hours are required. Salary for this position is $16.55 per hour.
Flexible work schedule. Valid driver's license required. This is a union position.
