Day or night shift: 12 Hour shifts 7:00 - 7:00, with rotating days/nights off
Summary of Responsibilities: Set up, start up, maintain, and troubleshoot extrusion lines and associated products in conformance with customer/company production specifications.

Read and interpret production paperwork including, but not limited to, Sales Orders, Production Notes Customer Specifications, and Set-Up Sheets.
Set up production lines, flat and blown film lines, using previously determined guidelines and specifications.
Start up extrusion line and maintain the line within customer specification.
Data entry of all production data into FoxPro.
Prepare customer samples as required.
Inspect running material and take gauge samples from rolls per specification and test material.
Make tooling changes and adjustments to machinery with little or no supervision (e.g. cleaning screws).
Recommends measures to improve production methods, equipment performance and quality of product.
Suggests changes in working conditions and use of equipment to increase efficiency of plant, department or work crew.
Attend weekly shift meeting and safety meetings, which will be in addition to regular work schedule.
May be required to train Utility Personnel or other Operators.
May be required to take on the role of Team Leader in Supervisors absence.
Flexibility and skill to operate a variety of lines to allow for flexibility in production scheduling.
Performs duties of Utility Worker when required.
Access to confidential information such as formulas, supplier names, materials, process conditions and set-up information. (You will have to sign a confidentiality agreement upon hire)

While performing the duties of this job the employee is required to stand, sit, use arms, hands and fingers to handle, feel, and reach.
Frequently walk, stand, talk and hear
Occasionally climb and balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. Blown film operators require ability to regularly climb stairs.
Regularly bend, twist, and lift and/or move up to 60 pounds and frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.
Ability to work a 12 hour shift. May alternate standing, walking, and sitting as production run will allow, depending on rate, time between sets, production challenges, etc.
Employees’ with a medical history or clinical diagnosis of epilepsy or any other condition which is likely to cause loss of consciousness or any loss of ability to control a PIT must be approved by the designated physician to be able to drive a PIT.
High School Diploma or Equivalent. One to three years production experience is desirable, Associates degree from a technical school is desirable.Experience with dies and extruders is desirable. Must have a valid driver's license.

Basic computer skills are required. Tasks will include, but are not limited to, data entry of production and general record keeping.
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out complex multiple step instructions. Ability to deal with non-standardized situations with multiple variables.
Temperatures range from normal to extremely hot.
Atmosphere will contain dust, fumes, and odors.
Special hazards include mechanical, electrical, chemical, and radiation.
Regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts and vibrations.
Noise level in environment is moderate.
Protective clothing/equipment required could include, but not limited to: Safety glasses, Steel toed boots, bump cap, protective gloves, hearing protection, and other personal protective equipment.
