The City of Lake Mills is accepting applications for the job of Police Officer. ILEA (Iowa Law Enforcement Academy) certification is preferred, but non-certified applicants are encouraged to apply. A College degree in Criminal Justice or related area is also preferred. The City of Lake Mills is seeking a dedicated, hardworking, team oriented individual to perform a wide range of law enforcement and crime prevention duties for the safety and protection of life and property in the Lake Mills Community. Preserves peace, order, safety, problem resolution and perform investigative work in preparation for arrest and/or criminal prosecution. Officer can expect to work nights, weekends and Holidays.
Physical agility testing and POST testing for non-certified applicants will be conducted in Lake Mills at a later date. Non-certified applicants with a valid POST score within the last year are waived from the POST test. Certified ILEA applicants are waived from the physical agility and POST testing and do not have to be present for testing.
Position includes heath, vision and dental insurance. Life insurance and enrollment in the IPERS retirement system.
Entrey level non-certified applicants - $41,658.00
certified applicants - $44,263.00 - 46,868.00 (depending upon qualifications.)
