Director of Alumni Engagement
The Director of Alumni Engagement will provide leadership to and oversight of activities that build life-long and mutually enriching relationships with Western New England University's alumni. Reporting to the Vice President for Advancement, the Director of Alumni Engagement is a collaborative and creative leader who partners with faculty and staff in key administrative offices (including, but not limited to Student Affairs/Career Development Services, Admissions, Athletics, and Marketing/External Affairs) as well as with the Alumni Association Boards and other volunteers, to advance a transformative experience for current students and alumni. The Director also works closely with University leaders and the development office to identify and cultivate volunteers and donors in order to advance a culture of philanthropy at the University. Working with the Alumni Engagement staff comprised of two associate members and one clerical support position, the Director will be responsible for making and carrying out a comprehensive annual plan that ensures greater alumni engagement, including setting measurable goals and evaluating progress against stated goals.
The successful candidate will bring: Knowledge and experience in alumni engagement, alumni programming, and special events with demonstrated accomplishment in fostering productive relationships with volunteers and developing volunteer leadership; the ability to work cooperatively with various constituencies, including alumni, faculty, staff, students, parents, and community leaders; demonstrated ability to strategize, plan, execute, and evaluate programs; demonstrated ability to organize and complete multiple tasks simultaneously with close attention to detail and prioritization to meet deadlines; demonstrated excellence with communication, interpersonal, organizational, and managerial skills; and high professional and ethical standards for handling confidential information.
