Web Content Manager Elms College located in Chicopee, MA is seeking a Web Content Manager.
The Web Content Manager will work with content owners and website administrators who contribute to the colleges website to provide insight, direction and training on best practices for web content.
In addition, the manager will drive content strategy and write copy for top-tier pages of the site, make recommendations for data-driven template and navigation updates, and assist content owners with information architecture design and content strategy.
This will be done in consideration of the goals of the college's website: to improve the reputation of and drive recruitment for the institution.
The Web Content Manger will report to the Director of Institutional Marketing.
PRIMARY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES Collaborates closely with the Director of Institutional Marketing and the rest of the marketing team to support the organizations mission, vision, and values through the development and creation of web content that enhances positive internal and external awareness of Elms College.
Working with the web manager to support digital marketing campaigns, will oversee design/technical development of lead generating Landing Pages, Email Template, Banner Ads, etc.
for digital marketing campaigns. Coordinates tags and tracking implementation parameters.
Implement approved deliverables to enhance SEO ranking and visitor conversions.
Build custom forms and pages using WordPress and website form plug-ins.
Monitor visitor/user experience analysis.
Work with internal teams exploring ways to improve conversion rate, user experience, and site optimization for online website content.
Track and conduct in-depth analysis of website reporting performance, trends, paths and results of online marketing initiatives to provide data driven business intelligence.
Implementing best practices and lead a/b and multivariate testing plans for site page/template design, functionality enhancements and the impact of promotion across channels.
Ensure best practices are upheld throughout the website as relates to W3C standards, FERPA, section 508 accessibility compliance, content readability, and content usability and AP style.
Facilitates and implements WordPress training sessions with faculty and staff website stakeholders.
Works with marketing and communications team to brainstorm and develop new and innovative social media campaigns to strengthen and promote the Elms College brand.
Responsible for managing all website updates and changes to various web properties.
Responsible for sharing reporting/results with teams to provide insights, key learning and opportunities.
Delivers all projects on time and with the highest quality.
This job will require the ability to work independently to produce a great volume of work, but also to work well in a collegial, team atmosphere.
Archives content from the website as needed.
Complies with marketing department standards, policies, and procedures.
Attends meetings and serves on committees as needed.
Other duties as assigned. QUALIFICATIONS Minimum of a Bachelors degree in communications, journalism, or related field.
Masters degree in web design or online communications preferred.
Minimum of three (3) years experience working with technology projects.
Three (3) or more years of professional writing and web writing/editing experience.
Two (2) or more years of experience working on higher education or non-profit web sites in an editorial capacity.
Demonstrated skills in writing specifically for the web and understanding best practices.
Working knowledge of relevant tools, including HTML, WordPress, Google Analytics, Photoshop, InDesign and adobe Illustrator.
Familiarity with marketing principles for Internet.
Demonstrated project management skills.
Familiarity with current developments in online marketing and personalization.
Strong knowledge and ability to create and manger web content.
Strong knowledge of and competency with web development and content management system software.
Excellent editing, writing and proofreading skills.
Ability to maintain confidentiality of data and information.
Excellent interpersonal, communication, organizational, planning, customer service, and project management skills.
Ability to analyze problems, issues and proposals, make recommendations, and utilize sound judgment in implanting the appropriate course of action.
Must be results-oriented, highly motivated, flexible, and able to manage multiple competing responsibilities, deadlines, and projects.
Stays current with issues, developments, and initiatives involving web technology and marketing trends in higher education.
Ability to effectively conduct trainings and facilitate group meetings.
Ability to adhere to FERPA regulations and all College policies.
May be required to work some night and weekend hours on occasion.
