The University of Massachusetts Amherst invites applications for the position of Academic Advisor in the Division of Continuing and Professional Education.
The Academic Advisor will: Serve as advisor, educational planner and advocate for prospective, new and current traditional and post-traditional (adult) undergraduate students and perform outreach and recruitment functions. Provide comprehensive advising to students concerning their academic plans and progress, academic schedule, choice of major and other academic activities and career objectives. Coach students in making decisions concerning personal and educational goals leading to graduation. Coordinate the CPE Bachelor of General Studies (BGS) individualized degree program. Perform the requisite functions of academic dean for non-degree and BGS students during all four terms (Winter Session, Spring, Summer Session and Fall).
