Tax Services Specialist
30 hrs/wk Full-time/temporary (Dec-April) position. Tax Services Specialist will provide support for implementation of Community Action's Free Tax Assistance Program, including tax clinic oversight, quality review and approval of tax returns and guidance to volunteer staff. Ideal candidate will have experience with on-line tax preparation software, supervision and/or coordination of volunteers and demonstrated success with program planning and coordination. Evening/weekend hours required during tax clinics. $16.50 hr.
Tax Services Associate
Community Action's Tax Services Associate will conduct the eligibility screening and intake, and schedule tax preparation appointments. Responsibilities also include tracking calls, confirming appointments both in writing and by phone, and helping to follow-up with taxpayers who need to provide additional documentation to complete their return. Training in basic tax prep will be provided to better understand the screening and tax preparation process. This is a full-time, temporary (Dec to mid-April) 30hrs. week maximum (some variance Dec & April) position. The ideal candidate will have High School Diploma or GED and 1 year experience in office-related functions including customer service or other relevant experience; ability to complete training and IRS certification in basic tax prep; one year customer service experience preferred; bilingual/bicultural (Spanish/English) preferred. Pay rate $15/ hr, afternoon and evening hours needed.
