The Division of University Outreach and Engagement at Oregon State University is seeking a Student Success Coordinator. This is a full-time (1.0 FTE), 12-month, fixed term professional faculty position located in Portland, Oregon. Reappointment is at the discretion of the Vice Provost for University Outreach and Engagement and the Director of Extension Service.
The Student Success Coordinator is a full-time, 12-month, fixed-term professional faculty position to be located in Portland, Oregon. This position will have a supervision team that includes OSU Open Campus (OOC), the OSUCollege of Business (COB) and the College of Engineering (COE), with the Open Campus Program Leader as the direct supervisor.
This Student Success Coordinator will be a team member of the OSU Open Campus (OOC), the OSU College of Business (COB) and the OSU College of Engineering (COE) and will support the primary missions of each as well as Oregon State University. This coordinator is a broad source of information regarding the OSU divisions for community college students and the community.
The OSU Open Campus is a unit within the Division of University Outreach and Engagement (Division). The Division enhances access to enrichment and problem solving through reciprocal relationships for the exchange of knowledge and resources in partnership with individuals, communities, business, industries, government, and educational institutions. The Division is under the leadership of the Vice Provost for University Outreach and Engagement.
The three main goals of OSU Open Campus are degree completion, college readiness, and community engagement. As a member of the OSU Open Campus team, this coordinator connects community college students with Ecampus Success Counselors and other resources as necessary; looks for and creates opportunities for increased partnership opportunities between the University, partnering organizations, and community members; and delivers educational presentations at community events.
As a member of the OSU College of Business and OSU College of Engineering teams, this coordinator assists prospective undergraduate transfer students at Portland Community College (PCC) with a full range of support for enrolling in OSU’s business and engineering programs (including and especially online and hybrid programs, as well as programs offered at the Corvallis campus). Support includes assistance with the application process, orientation, academic program planning, course selection, registration, internship coordination, advising, and career planning, among other services. This support is provided on-site at Portland Community College.
This position includes activities primarily on-site at PCC. Regular weekly travel is expected between assigned PCC sites.
Travel to other sites within the Portland community is expected on a more infrequent basis for community events and presentations. Some travel to Corvallis is expected (an average of one Corvallis visit per month). Some evening and weekend work is required.
