As a Family Support Advocate, you will support adults in the Greenfield area in activities that focus on community inclusion and socialization. Your day may include social, volunteer and recreational activities, supporting safety and health care, and managing physical and behavioral challenges. Your work will take into account the hobbies, activities, interests and life skill needs of the member which could include activities such as money management, cooking, or shopping. Your services will take place in the community in which the member lives, at their home, or any other location that both the member and family deem appropriate throughout the day or according to their schedule and following current and evolving COVID safety guidelines. Some afternoon and evening hours may be required. You will not regularly report into a physical office and instead will manage documentation (following HIPAA protocols) and attend virtual meetings as needed.
To be considered for this role you must be at least 18 years old with a High School diploma or equivalent plus six or more months work or life experience with individuals with disabilities. Behavior management experience preferred but will train. You must have a driver's license, access to an insured private vehicle and a good driving record and be willing to drive in and around Franklin County. You know how to use a laptop or other electronic devices to communicate, access files and entries and complete online trainings. You have or are able to be certified in CPR/First Aid and can handle urgent or emergency situations in a calm manner. You are able to pass a CORI, SORI, DPPC and National Fingerprint Check if offered a position. Negative Mantoux TB test or a clear chest x-ray required.
