Who we need:
The Lead Concierge is a motivated, experienced, hands-on leader who ensures every resident has a memorable and positive experience when interacting with the staff. Anticipating the needs of our residents is paramount in leading a successful staff. This is a full-time, non-exemptposition reporting to the General Manager. The role is based in Boston, MA.
What you’ll do:
- Team Management: Hiring, training, scheduling, and supervising concierge and resident service agents to maintain high service standards.
- Guest Services: Coordinating resident requests, providing personalized recommendations (restaurants, transportation, local events, etc.), and handling special requests.
- Housekeepers, dog walkers, real estate agents, delivery agents, and general contractors are also guests of our building. Ensure all visitors are greeted and assisted in the same manner as residents.
- Special Services: These include arranging and overseeing prescription pick-ups from local pharmacies, package deliveries and shipping, food deliveries, laundry, and other deliveries throughout the day. They also include scheduling unit inspections when residents are away for extended periods, coordinating HVAC cleaning with maintenance, and coordinating loading dock reservations for large deliveries. Finally, all staff members should be updated daily on the residents' needs and special requests.
- Local Knowledge: Maintaining an up-to-date knowledge of local attractions, events, restaurants, and services to enhance the resident experience. Keep updated on special events in the city and how they might impact the residents.
- Problem Resolution: Addressing resident and staff concerns and complaints promptly and effectively. Vigilant oversight of valet parking areas.
- Concierge Desk Operations: Maintain all log entries neatly and orderly. Daily staff report on all resident requests for the day. Continuous communication and follow-up with residents to ensure all services have been accomplished. Constantly monitor building security cameras and motion detection devices. Monitor the fire command system. Answer all phones in a timely and calming manner. Ensure the cleanliness of the lobby and second floor throughout the day.
What we’re looking for:
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
- Bilingual. Spanish Required.
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
- Extensive knowledge of the local area.
- Ability to manage, schedule, and motivate a team.
- Familiarity with hospitality management principles.
- Time management skills.
- Ability to stand for long periods.
- Prior experience in hospitality, particularly in concierge, front office, or guest services.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills are essential.
