Founded in 1915, the Middlebury Language Schools at Middlebury College is a leader in immersive language education, where students, faculty, and staff live and study entirely in their target language. Central to the experience is the Language Pledge®—a formal commitment to communicate only in the language of study. Each Schools blends rigorous academics with rich co-curricular activities that extend learning beyond the classroom. The School of Spanish is one of the largest and oldest, enrolling roughly 140 immersion and 80 graduate students each summer, and fostering a close, supportive community dedicated to mastery of the Spanish language and the diverse cultures of the Spanish-speaking world. 

The Director of the School plans, directs, and supervises the instructional and co-curricular program, including lectures, films, concerts, and social events. They hire the School’s faculty and staff, work with instructors to develop and implement curriculum, administer the School budget, supervise student progress, provide advice and support to students, faculty colleagues, and staff, and represent the School at professional meetings. They oversee the MA and DML programs, the summer graduate program in Buenos Aires, and provide input for the graduate program at the Schools Abroad. 

Responsibilities 
The Director spends the summer in full-time residence on the Vermont campus, where they oversee the instructional and co-curricular program and teach one organized course, if time allows. During the academic year, the Director works part-time to plan the curriculum, hire faculty and summer staff, evaluate and publicize the program, recruit students, and oversee the admissions process in collaboration with the Assistant Director. 
The initial appointment is for three years. Directors submit an annual report in the fall of each year summarizing School performance for the summer, outlining goals for the next year, and articulating a vision for the School.

RESPONSIBILITIES
The Certified Personal Trainer will be responsible for providing one-on-one and couples personalized fitness instruction in person to clients at their home, apartment gym or outside while encouraging them to reach their fitness goals. Responsibilities are as follows:

<li>Customize client workout programs developed from the Initial Assessment</li>
<li>Utilize the Svetness Fitness App for all client sessions, including programming &amp; session notes</li>
<li>Demonstrate each exercise and ensure client is performing correctly with or without modifications</li>
<li>Conduct client Reassessments every 4-6 weeks</li>
<li>Maintain client session appointments through Svetness scheduling software</li>
<li>Able to provide a flexible schedule to accommodate client appointments</li>
<li>Able to commute to and from client sessions up to 45 minutes</li>

QUALIFICATIONS
<ul>
<li>Certified Personal Trainer: Accredited by NCCA, DEAC, or NBFE.</li>
<li>CPR/AED Certification: Ensure clients' safety with up-to-date CPR/AED training.</li>
<li>Education and experience: High school diploma or GED equivalent and 1-3 years of personal training experience.</li>
<li>Strong communication skills: Effectively communicate verbally, in writing, and technically.</li>
<li>Knowledgeable in nutrition: Possess a basic understanding of nutrition and healthy living practices.</li>
<li>Fitness expertise: Familiarity with a variety of exercise equipment and personal training methods.</li>
<li>Physical ability: Capable of lifting, pushing, pulling up to 50 lbs. and performing athletic calisthenics duties.</li>
<li>Requirements for this position include the possession of personal basic training equipment to effectively assist clients in achieving their goals. It is important to note that clients may not always have access to the necessary equipment.</li>

The Adapted Physical Education Aide&nbsp;will implement individualized programs in accordance with the goals written by the A.P.E. Specialist.&nbsp; This is a full-time position, non-exempt reporting to the Adapted Physical Education Specialist/Teacher.
<ul>
<li>Assist the student in preparation for treatment and pool sessions including dressing, undressing, application or removal of braces, etc.;</li>
<li>Stay up-to-date with behavior plan and Supportive and Protective Device Plan changes;</li>
<li>Complete all assigned tasks in a timely manner by maintaining a consistent pace and constant level of productivity;</li>
<li>Obtain and maintain Shallow Water Lifeguard certification as well as Certified Pool Operator certification</li>
<li>Communicate with supervisor and peers in a professional manner;</li>
<li>Provide creative input for departmental growth and development to A.P.E. Specialist;</li>
<li>Assist with orthopedic, orthotic, and wheelchair clinics, as needed;</li>
<li>Monitor and assist with positioning programs;</li>
<li>Provide monthly weighing of each student, document weights, and forward to nursing;</li>
<li>Must meet EEC/DESE requirements for in-service including related total hours (24 hours per year);</li>
<li>Attend and participate in departmental staff meetings;</li>
<li>Cooperate and participate in internal investigations;</li>
