We are seeking a Senior Director, Radiopharmaceutical Manufacturing Science and Technology (MSAT), to provide strategic leadership for Lantheus’ MSAT team in support of our expanding oncology product portfolio. This position will be responsible for CMC activities related to regulatory submissions and validation of radioligand diagnostic and therapeutic sites, covering finished products, raw materials, and components. The Senior Director MSAT will manage a multidisciplinary team of engineers and scientists, direct technology transfer, process scale-up, development studies, gap analyses, as well as process qualification, and review/approve CMC documentation. This individual will also drive continuous improvement initiatives and address technical and quality challenges to ensure the reliability of the commercial supply chain.
This position is based in Massachusetts and requires a presence on-site (two/three) days per week, and open to applicants authorized to work for any employer within the United States.
Key Responsibilities/Essential Functions
<ul>
<li>Oversees a team of scientists and engineers to evaluate and resolve technical and quality challenges, ensuring continued supply of Lantheus’ commercial and clinical drug products.</li>
<li>Takes responsibility for developing and managing technology transfer projects, both internally and with third-party contract manufacturing organizations (CMOs), covering finished products, formulation ingredients, and components. Defines project goals and metrics during qualification phases and reports progress accordingly. Promotes accountability and consistent improvement among Lantheus and CMO leadership.</li>
<li>Acts as the main contact between internal teams and CMOs for technical development, technology transfer, adjustments, support activities, and validation studies. Sets up effective decision-making and communication structures between external vendors and Lantheus teams throughout these processes. Collaborates with Procurement and Supply Chain teams on cost analysis and feasibility assessments.</li>
<li>Leads cross-functional groups—including R&amp;D, Supply Chain, Regulatory, Quality, Finance, Legal, and their CMO counterparts—to address issues promptly and keep projects on track. May also serve as project manager to ensure accountability, drive action, and encourage innovative problem-solving.</li>
<li>Utilizes advanced scientific expertise to foster strong collaboration between Lantheus’ Manufacturing, R&amp;D, Regulatory, Quality, MT&amp;D teams, and CMO partners for the development, scale-up, transfer, and validation of commercial-scale manufacturing processes for existing and pipeline products.</li>
<li>Stays current with new manufacturing technologies, industry developments, and changes in leading pharmaceutical CMOs, particularly those related to sterile injectable drugs.</li>
<li>Drives continuous improvement initiatives using established metrics, manages projects within budget, leads budgeting efforts, and prioritizes cost-saving measures.</li>
<li>Provides technical content and draft CMC regulatory submissions to the Regulatory Affairs team to support project completion as needed.</li>
<li>Directs and develops the technical team, setting clear project-related objectives and personal growth plans for staff members.</li>
</ul>
Basic Qualifications 
<ul>
<li>Preferred: Advanced degrees (MS, MBA, PhD) in relevant scientific, technical, or business fields; candidates with a BS and 10+ years of radiopharmaceutical development and commercialization experience will also be considered.</li>
</ul>
<ul>
<li>10+ years of experience in the areas of drug and medical device manufacturing process development, equipment/process validation and technical transfer.</li>
</ul>
<ul>
<li>Prior experience in leading and managing interdisciplinary or cross-functional pharmaceutical or biotech teams is required.</li>
<li>Understanding of FDA and/or EMA quality and regulatory processes. Prior experience with regulatory filings is highly desired.</li>
</ul>
Other Requirements

<li>Previous experience working with aseptically filled drug products, radiopharmaceuticals and CMOs strongly preferred.</li>
</ul>

<li>Project management experience is necessary to ensure plans are developed to mitigate technical and logistical issues, to keep programs on their agreed upon timelines.</li>

The pay range for this position is between $204,000 and $339,000 annually.
Actual base pay offered may vary depending on a number of factors such as job-related knowledge, skills and experience. Employees in this position are eligible for a discretionary performance-based cash incentive, and depending on the level of the role may be eligible for a discretionary annual equity award.
