Specimen Collectors also complete requisition forms for specimen testing, ensuring integrity of the specimen, obtain accompanying patient information, shipping specimens to the laboratory, and entering patient information into EMR, or LIS system as needed. Position may also include, requesting missing patient information from the clinic staff, scheduling specimen collection appointments, and other general office tasks as deemed necessary by Field Operations Supervisor of Core Business.
 
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
<ul>
<li>Collect all urine samples, enter data in Laboratory Information System</li>
<li>Collect anterior nasal swabs for Covid-19 testing, if requested at account</li>
<li>Obtain blood specimen collection from patients following Ethos venipuncture protocols, if applicable at the location(s) assigned</li>
<li>Follows established patient protocol</li>
<li>Maintains specimen integrity by following Ethos standard operating procedures and reference materials provided by Core Business Field Supervisor</li>
<li>Tracks collected specimens by initialing, dating, and completing paper requisition forms</li>
<li>Labels specimen for identification purposes and prepares sample for shipment to lab</li>
<li>Maintains safe, secure, and clean work environment by following standard procedures, and compliance guidelines</li>
<li>Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities &amp; training opportunities provided by Ethos</li>
<li>Adheres to Ethos professional standards, policies and procedures, and meets federal, state, and local requirements</li>
<li>Maintains positive interaction with patients and clinic staff, representing Ethos core values</li>
<li>Work independently and be supervised remotely</li>
<li>Complete assigned computer learnings, remain current with competency sign offs in Media Lab</li>

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
<ul>
<li>Specimen collection, medical, or laboratory experience preferred, but not required</li>
<li>Customer service, Logistics, Data Entry experience preferred, but not required</li>
<li>Reliable transportation</li>
<li>High School Diploma or GED required</li>
<li>Should client bring on additional testing the Collector is unable to perform, additional training or reassigning may be considered, to the extent that such training or other work is available</li>

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
<ul>
<li>Ability to communicate effectively, orally, and in writing</li>
<li>Must be able to work under limited and remote supervision where the work assignments are subject to established procedures, techniques, and well-defined policies</li>
<li>Skill with completing assignments accurately and with attention to detail</li>
<li>Ability to pass a criminal background check and drug test</li>
<li>Ability to utilize technology to complete work in a remote environment: update personnel documents and complete online training and utilize Aps on a smart phone to clock in and out</li>

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

<li>Proof of Covid-19 Vaccination or valid exemption</li>
<li>Work in varying degrees of temperature (heated or air conditioned)</li>
<li>Position requires sitting, walking, reaching, bending, stooping, and handling objects with hands and/or fingers, talking and/or hearing, and seeing</li>
<li>Work will be performed in a patient facing environment and exposes the incumbent to normal bodily fluids, including biohazard materials</li>
