Developing proteomics workflows using advanced high-resolution mass spectrometry techniques.
-
Key duties include development and optimization of sample preparation methods from cell lines and other matrices for mass spectrometry analysis and data processing with various bioinformatics tools; collaborative work with colleagues; accurately documenting all activities in an electronic lab notebook (ELN).

Applying knowledge of proteomics workflows to develop and implement optimal strategies for the preparation and analysis of cellular samples

Working collaboratively with experts in the team to advance innovative proteomics strategies
-
Employing different bioinformatics tools for data analysis and fitting
-
Consistent record keeping using an electronic lab notebook (ELN)
-
Interact daily with the managers and 3-4 colleagues in the cross-functional team for method development, laboratory work prioritization, experiment planning and execution.
-
Also work on common assignments with colleagues in a larger bioanalytical group at the same location, as needed.
-
Participate in bi-weekly group meetings and other team meetings and discussions, as relevant to their work.
QUALIFICATIONS:
-
M.Sc with 5+ years experience; OR
-
PhD 0+ years in a relevant scientific field with a documented experience in proteomics and mass-spectrometry desired
-
Advanced knowledge and documented expertise with mass-spectrometry based proteomics approaches: label- or label-free quantification (TMT or DIA)
-
Experience with high-resolution mass-spectrometry instruments, such as Orbitraps and timsTOF
-
Experience with sample preparation based on enrichment (incl. affinity purification), and universal protein extraction
-
Bioinformatics skills relevant for mass-spec data search, statistical analysis and visualization
-
Experience with membrane protein analysis and/or cell surface proteomics
-
Knowledge of cell culture techniques and experience conducitng cell-based assays
-
Walking, taking the stairs, standing, sitting as appropriate for a laboratory-based position
-
Experience with cell culture and cell manipulation is a plus.

Requires expertise in LC-MS based proteomics.

Technical Certification Bonus: Synectics is pleased to award its employees a bonus of up to $500 for an approved professional certification. In determining the bonus amount, Synectics will consider the cost of the test(s) for any certification relating to your current position, achieved during your employment with us. Only one Certification Bonus per calendar year may be awarded per employee. Only current, active employees will be eligible to receive this bonus. It will be awarded 90 days after the Synectics office has received documentation confirming the successful completion of the certification.
