DIRECTOR OF ACCOUNTING AND FINANCIAL OPERATIONS
Location: Boston, MA (Hybrid – In-office Tues/Thurs)
Base Compensation: Up to $150,000

We are seeking an experienced and strategic finance leader to serve as Director of Accounting and Financial Operations for a growing purpose-driven organization in Boston. This hybrid role offers the opportunity to work in-office two days per week while leading key accounting and financial operations initiatives across multiple entities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead preparation and review of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.

  • Oversee general ledger activity, including journal entries, reconciliations, and adjustments.

  • Manage annual audit process and preparation of Form 990s.

  • Develop, implement, and maintain accounting policies and procedures.

  • Manage day-to-day financial operations, including cash flows, payments, and account reconciliations.

  • Oversee donor-advised fund accounting, including contributions, investment income, grant disbursements, and fees.

  • Provide financial reporting and analysis to leadership and stakeholders.

  • Drive process improvements and assist in implementing technology solutions for operational efficiency.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA strongly preferred).

  • Minimum 7–10 years of progressive accounting/finance experience, including leadership experience.

  • Strong knowledge of GAAP and nonprofit accounting principles.

  • Proven experience in financial or treasury operations.

  • Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel; familiarity with donor-advised fund platforms is a plus.

  • Authorization to work in the U.S.; visa sponsorship is not available.

Compensation & Benefits:

  • Base salary up to $150,000, commensurate with experience.
