DIRECTOR OF ACCOUNTING AND FINANCIAL OPERATIONS
Location: Boston, MA (Hybrid – In-office Tues/Thurs)
Base Compensation: Up to $150,000
We are seeking an experienced and strategic finance leader to serve as Director of Accounting and Financial Operations for a growing purpose-driven organization in Boston. This hybrid role offers the opportunity to work in-office two days per week while leading key accounting and financial operations initiatives across multiple entities.
Key Responsibilities:

Lead preparation and review of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.

Oversee general ledger activity, including journal entries, reconciliations, and adjustments.

Manage annual audit process and preparation of Form 990s.

Develop, implement, and maintain accounting policies and procedures.

Manage day-to-day financial operations, including cash flows, payments, and account reconciliations.

Oversee donor-advised fund accounting, including contributions, investment income, grant disbursements, and fees.

Provide financial reporting and analysis to leadership and stakeholders.

Drive process improvements and assist in implementing technology solutions for operational efficiency.
Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA strongly preferred).

Minimum 7–10 years of progressive accounting/finance experience, including leadership experience.

Strong knowledge of GAAP and nonprofit accounting principles.

Proven experience in financial or treasury operations.

Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel; familiarity with donor-advised fund platforms is a plus.

Authorization to work in the U.S.; visa sponsorship is not available.
Compensation & Benefits:

Base salary up to $150,000, commensurate with experience.
