Job Description

Job DescriptionSalary:

REXA, Inc. is seeking a Buyer to source, plan, procure, and manage the material flow of inventory items, supplies, goods, and services required, to fulfill customer requirements (both internal and external).


Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with Engineering, Production and Suppliers to identify cost effective supply solutions
  • Be involved in Sourcing and Procurement activities in a High Mix/Low volume environment
  • Maintain and review appropriate stocking levels using system tools, forecasts, and sales feedback to monitor: Safety Stock, Lead time and Cost for assigned parts
  • Anticipate and react to the changing conditions that require decisions, action and/or problem solving, that directly affects purchased materials
  • Analyze, Quote, and Order, Inventory Materials based on customer demand through use of the ERP system
  • Work with the Accounting department on Invoice/PO Reconciliations
  • Support resolution of purchasing issues with other departments (Accounting, Receiving, Production, Sales, Engineering, R&D, and Service) related to conformance to quality, designs, material scheduling, receiving, and pricing disputes
  • Facilitate other purchasing actions and/or reports such as expediting, pull-ins, past dues, ECNs, etc.
  • Drive vendor performance metrics for associated spend to meet business goals and to resolve any vendor Delivery and/or Quality issues (OTD, MRB, SCARs)



Education and Experience:

  • 5 years of experience working in a buying function in a manufacturing environment preferred

Knowledge and skills:

  • Strong negotiation skills
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Working knowledge and understanding of ERP/MRP systems and their use in a manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to react and respond to high volume emails (internally & externally), in a timely manner
  • Knowledge in Microsoft Outlook, Office, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Access.
  • Capability to work independently and within a collaborative team environment

Additional Skills, preferred, but not required:

  • Lean concepts, tools, and knowledge
  • Understanding of drawings/blueprints and other manufacturing standards

Working conditions:

Office environment with some exposure to manufacturing activity. No strenuous physical work. Strict compliance with company safety policies.
