A growing organization is seeking a Senior Accountant (Audit Focus) located in the Boston Metro Area to support financial reporting, audit readiness, and global compliance efforts. The finance team is building internal capabilities and transitioning away from outside consultants, making this a high-impact opportunity. This role is ideal for a candidate with a strong public accounting foundation (Big 4 preferred) and experience responding to audit requests.
The Job
- Serve as a key point of contact for audit support, including documentation gathering and request management
- Prepare and review journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial statement support schedules
- Assist with month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close in partnership with the Controller
- Coordinate with external auditors across domestic and international audit cycles
- Support internal control improvements and ensure GAAP compliance
- Analyze financial trends and provide insights to leadership for decision-making
- Mentor junior team members and promote best practices within accounting operations
Required Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related discipline
- 5+ years of accounting or audit experience (top public accounting firm background preferred)
- Strong understanding of audit procedures, GAAP, and financial reporting
- Experience working in fast-paced, growing environments
- International exposure strongly preferred (global audits, multi-entity operations)
- CPA is strongly desired
Compensation & Benefits
- Salary range: $110,000 – $120,000
