Job Description
Title: Marketing Manager/Senior Communications Manager - R&D
Location: Cambridge, MA (Hybrid)
Duration: 06 months w/possible extension
Hybrid- 3 days a week in Cambridge, MA
6 months w/possible extension
Position Summary:
*** is seeking a Senior Manager to support R&D Communications as a temporary member of the global Corporate Affairs team. This individual will play a critical role in supporting the Head of R&D Communications in executing internal and external communications plan that amplify ***'s scientific narrative. This individual will help drive high-impact communications initiatives, support executive visibility, and contribute to storytelling efforts that connect R&D's work to the company's broader mission.
Key Responsibilities:
• Strategic Communications Support
o Partner with the Head of R&D Communications to develop and execute integrated communication plans aligned with R&D and corporate priorities.
o Translate complex scientific and medical concepts into compelling narratives for diverse audiences.
o Develop and manage content for internal channels (e.g., town halls, newsletters, intranet) and external platforms (e.g., media, social, speaking engagements).
• Executive Engagement
o Support preparation for internal and external engagements involving R&D leaders (ie briefing materials, talking points, presentation decks, etc.).
• Content Development
o Originate and edit high-quality written materials including articles, announcements, video scripts, and executive communications.
o Ensure consistency in messaging and tone across all R&D communications.
• Stakeholder Management / Collaboration
o Partner with R&D Chiefs of Staff, Corporate Communications, HR, and other cross-functional teams to align messaging and execution.
Qualifications:
• 5+ years of professional experience in communications, preferably in biotech, pharma, or healthcare.
• Excellent writing skills and executive presence, including experience working with senior leaders.
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects.
• A passion for science-driven storytelling, with a familiarity with scientific terminology and the biotech regulatory.
Education:
• Bachelor's degree required, ideally in Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, or a related field.
