Job DescriptionThe Community Outreach Specialist is responsible for developing and maintaining relationships with community organizations, schools, and local groups This role involves networking, event planning, and direct engagement with diverse communities to enhance recruitment efforts and support the organization’s hiring and outreach goals.
Recruitment & Outreach
- Develop and implement outreach strategies to attract diverse candidates.
- Build relationships with local organizations, educational institutions, and community leaders.
- Attend job fairs, career expos, and community events to promote opportunities.
- Identify and engage potential candidates through grassroots and digital outreach.
- Partner with internal teams to ensure recruitment efforts align with organizational needs.
Community Engagement
- Foster strong relationships within targeted communities to establish trust and credibility.
- Organize and host informational sessions, workshops, and recruitment events.
- Act as a liaison between the organization and community groups.
- Maintain a database of community contacts and track engagement efforts.
Candidate Sourcing & Assessment
- Screen and assess potential candidates for qualifications and alignment with organizational needs.
- Provide guidance and information to candidates about opportunities and application processes.
- Track recruitment metrics and generate reports on outreach effectiveness.
Marketing & Promotion
- Develop recruitment materials, including flyers, social media posts, and presentations.
- Collaborate with the marketing team to create targeted outreach campaigns.
- Leverage online platforms and social networks to engage with potential candidates.
Requirements, Skills, and Knowledge
- Associate’s degree required.
- Bilingual proficiency preferred.
- Experience working with non-profits, educational institutions, or social services.
- Knowledge of diversity and inclusion best practices in recruitment.
- Strong networking and relationship-building skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
- Experience in organizing events and conducting presentations.
- Ability to work independently and travel locally for outreach events.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, social media platforms, and applicant tracking systems (preferred).
