Vice President, Business Operations – Solid Biosciences
Solid Biosciences is a precision genetic medicine company focused on advancing a portfolio of gene therapy candidates targeting rare neuromuscular and cardiac diseases, including Duchenne muscular dystrophy (Duchenne), Friedreich’s ataxia (FA), catecholaminergic polymorphic ventricular tachycardia (CPVT), TNNT2-mediated dilated cardiomyopathy, BAG3-mediated dilated cardiomyopathy, and additional fatal, genetic cardiac diseases. We are seeking a Vice President of Business Operations to lead strategic performance management and operational excellence across key functions in support of Solid’s gene therapy portfolio. This role is pivotal in establishing processes that drive accountability, generate actionable insights, and ensure alignment across operational strategies.
The successful candidate will provide cross-functional operational leadership, establishing performance management systems, support budgeting and forecasting processes, optimizing resource allocation, and facilitating coordination across key functions. This role requires a dynamic leader with deep experience in advanced therapies, strong analytical capabilities, and a passion for transforming the lives of patients with rare neuromuscular diseases.
This role will report to the Chief Operating Officer (CCO) and will be based in Solid’s Corporate Headquarters located in Hood Park in Charlestown, MA.
Key Position Responsibilities
- Establish and maintain performance management frameworks for key company operations. Generate actionable insights through data analysis, KPI tracking, and progress monitoring to support strategic decision-making and drive organizational accountability
- Partner across Solid’s teams to ensure that strategies and operational plans are aligned with the unique challenges and opportunities across the company’s programs and portfolio and the external gene therapy landscape
- Drive operational readiness, cross-functional alignment, and timely delivery of critical milestones across the organization
- Ensure field team support and readiness, aligning operational tools, training, and resources
- Support third-party and vendor contracting, ensuring compliant, efficient partnerships that advance operational objectives
- Contribute to and support annual business planning, aligning operational priorities with strategic goals and resource allocation across functions
- Identify opportunities to streamline processes, enhance operational efficiency, and strengthen performance management capabilities across functions. Drive adoption of best practices and scalable systems
Experience Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in life sciences or related discipline required; advanced degree (MBA, MS) preferred
- 15+ years of experience in biopharma operations, with at least 5 years in gene or cell therapy; 10+ years with advanced degree
- Experience leading across functions, with understanding of field operations, performance management, and cross-functional coordination
- Experience in rare disease, particularly neuromuscular disorders
- Demonstrated experience in performance management, KPI development, business analytics, and data-driven decision-making
- Strategic planning, project management, business case development, financial modeling, and product costing capabilities
- Demonstrated proficiency in stakeholder management and executive-level communication to effectively influence senior leaders across the organization
- Proven capability in leading cross-functional teams and navigating complex matrix organizational structures
- Proficiency with business intelligence tools, CRM

Compensation
The base compensation range for this role is: $262,538 - $339,872
Base salary offered is determined through an internal analysis utilizing a combination of factors including, but not limited to, relevant skills & experience, job location, and internal equity.
Regular employees are eligible to receive both short-term and long-term incentives, including cash bonus and equity incentive opportunities, designed to reward individual performance and align incentives to Solid’s long term company performance.
