Job DescriptionSalary:

South Street Diner is Boston's iconic 24/7 restaurant

We are looking for OVERNIGHT shifts. Please only apply if you are willing to work OVERNIGHT.

Hours are anywhere starting from 7pm and ending at 7am. Shifts could be 7pm - 5am, 11pm - 7am, 12am - 6am, and so on.....

Part-time , Hourly rate plus great tips!

  • Restaurant Experience is a MUST!
  • Punctuality - Be on time for your shift
  • Greet and seat guests in a friendly and welcoming manner
  • Take Food & Drink orders accurately and efficiently
  • Provide menu recommendations and know the answer to questions if they arise
  • Ensure guest satisfaction by checking on their needs throughout their dining experience
  • Process payments using cash register or POS system
  • Assist with basic food preparation and plating when necessary
  • Attention to Detail & Cleanliness
  • Teamwork with Front & Back of House Staff Members, Management and Owner.
  • Excellent customer service skills and a great, friendly attitude
  • Responsible, reliable and trustworthy
  • Sober!!! - We are a drug free workplace.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience as a host or server in a restaurant setting preferred
  • Familiarity with Toast or similar point-of-sale systems is a plus
  • Proficient in basic math for handling payments and making change accurately
  • Strong customer service skills with the ability to provide exceptional hospitality
  • Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment
  • Knowledge of food safety regulations and proper food handling techniques
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Availability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays

Skills:

  • Toast or similar point-of-sale systems
  • Basic math for handling payments and making change accurately
  • Sanitation practices for maintaining cleanliness and hygiene standards
  • Sales techniques for upselling and promoting menu items
  • Customer service skills to provide exceptional hospitality
  • Food preparation knowledge for basic tasks in the kitchen
  • Food service experience in a restaurant environment
