A large, mission-driven organization within the public sector health and human services domain is seeking a Business Systems Architect / Senior Business Systems Analyst to lead a strategic effort focused on optimizing and modernizing a complex case management technology ecosystem. This is a confidential search for a long-term initiative that requires a blend of systems strategy, business architecture, and hands-on analysis.
About the Role
This individual will be responsible for evaluating current system capabilities, defining business and system architecture, and mapping processes across multiple platforms to drive consistency, efficiency, and strategic use of technology. The initial focus will be on the organization’s case management systems, which span Salesforce, Microsoft Dynamics, and several additional applications used across different business units.
The goal is to streamline, align, and modernize these systems to support future scalability and operational effectiveness. This role may involve either working independently or partnering with internal subject-matter experts who deeply understand existing workflows.
Key Responsibilities
- Assess current-state case management systems and supporting applications across multiple business areas.
- Define system capabilities, business architecture, and process flows to recommend opportunities for standardization and consolidation.
- Partner closely with internal business teams and technical teams to distill complex requirements and translate them into actionable solution strategies.
- Develop detailed documentation including workflows, capability maps, system interaction diagrams, and functional requirements.
- Serve as a thought partner in shaping a long-term solution strategy leveraging low-code/no-code tools.
- Work with cross-functional teams from IT, business stakeholders, and external partners to guide solution design and ensure alignment with organizational goals.
- Provide recommendations that balance current-state realities with future-state architectural vision.
- Support decision-making around whether to backfill internal SMEs or leverage external expertise.
7–12+ years as a Business Systems Analyst, Business Architect, or Business Systems Architect.
Experience working in public sector health and human services, healthcare payor/insurance, or case management environments is strongly preferred.
Hands-on expertise with Salesforce, Microsoft Dynamics, or similar enterprise case management/CRM platforms.
Strong capability in process mapping, system capability analysis, and business architecture frameworks.
Ability to operate as both a strategic thinker and a hands-on contributor.
Experience supporting or designing solutions within low-code/no-code platforms is a plus.
Excellent communication skills with the ability to work across business, technical, and executive audiences.
