Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology, active SLP license and 1+ year of Speech-Language Pathology experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
A reputable elementary school in Amherst, MA is seeking a skilled Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) to cover a leave of absence. This contract opportunity offers approximately 17 hours per week providing essential speech-language services to students from kindergarten through 4th grade. The assignment begins as soon as possible and extends through mid-February 2026, with potential additional time needed to complete makeup services.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver direct speech therapy services to students individually, in small groups, or within inclusion classrooms.
- Conduct evaluations for IEP eligibility and participate in IEP meetings.
- Develop and write individualized goals based on student needs.
- Monitor and document student progress regularly.
- Collaborate with educators and support staff to facilitate student success.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Valid certification as a Speech-Language Pathologist, preferably with the Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC).
- Experience working in school settings with elementary-aged children.
- Familiarity with IEP development and special education procedures.
- Ability to manage a caseload effectively and communicate well with students, parents, and staff.
- Completion of district onboarding requirements is mandatory.
