Job Description

Job DescriptionManufacturing Cost & General Ledger Accountant

Location: Londonderry, NH (on-site daily) | Reports to: VP of Finance | Direct reports: None

A day in the role

You start your morning on the production floor, syncing with operations to understand yesterday’s output. Back at your desk, you onboard a new supplier in SyteLine, process the prior day’s AP and AR activity, and scan aging reports to flag any anomalies. Before lunch, you post journal entries to the General Ledger and reconcile accounts that will roll into month-end. In the afternoon, you meet with Purchasing to streamline invoice workflows and with Production to ensure costs are captured accurately. Complex or strategic items you escalate to the VP of Finance for guidance—everything else you handle independently within policy.

What you’ll do

  • Set up and maintain vendors in the ERP (SyteLine) to ensure clean master data.
  • Own day-to-day transaction processing across AP/AR and related entries.
  • Monitor AP and AR agings; proactively alert leadership to emerging issues.
  • Post transactions to the General Ledger with precision and completeness.
  • Assist with month-end and quarter-end close activities, including reconciliations.
  • Streamline processes for vendor onboarding, invoice processing, and vendor reconciliations.

Cross-functional collaboration

Partner closely with department managers, operations leaders, Finance, Purchasing, and Production to uphold financial integrity and alignment across the plant.

Decision-making and impact

Operate with independent judgment within established accounting policies and controls. Escalate complex or strategic decisions to the VP of Finance. Accuracy is critical—errors can affect financial statements, trigger audit findings, or create compliance risk.

Skills you’ll bring

  • Analytical problem-solver with strong data-driven decision-making.
  • Clear communication and presentation skills for stakeholder discussions.
  • Advanced desktop skills: Excel, PowerPoint, Access, and the broader MS Office suite.
  • ERP proficiency: SyteLine (highly desirable); familiarity with other systems such as NetSuite is preferred.
  • Solid grounding in GAAP; CPA credential is preferred.
  • Comfort working with large datasets; strength in math, statistics, and cost analysis.
  • Thrives independently or in a team; organized, deadline-driven, and composed under pressure.
  • A collaborative, can-do approach that fits a friendly, supportive team.

Education & experience

  • Associate’s degree in Accounting required; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • 2+ years of accounting experience, ideally in a manufacturing environment.

Tools & technologies

  • ERP: SyteLine; exposure to NetSuite is a plus.
  • Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Access.

Why IMS

Work in a fast-paced manufacturing setting with a supportive culture, competitive benefits, and significant opportunities for professional growth and development.
