As a Tax Co-Op at LGA, you'll have the opportunity to gain valuable insight and hands-on experience in the world of tax, while becoming part of a supportive team that will guide you each step of the way.
During your time at LGA, you will:
- Work on Real Projects: Gain exposure to a variety of tax returns, including individual, partnership, and corporate filings, providing you with a comprehensive understanding of different tax structures.
- Develop Key Skills: Learn essential skills in tax preparation, research, and analysis, which are vital for any career in accounting.
- Collaborate with Professionals: Work closely with experienced tax professionals who will mentor and support you as you grow your technical expertise.
- Become Part of the Team: Be fully integrated into our culture, attend firm events, and build meaningful relationships with colleagues at all levels of the organization.
- Career Development: Participate in ongoing training sessions, receive performance feedback, and get the opportunity to explore various pathways within public accounting.
Responsibilities and Skills:
- Have a strong interest in, and work towards, developing an awareness in the tax arena for business and personal tax engagements.
- Exude intellectual curiosity, have strong analytical and attention to detail skills.
- Demonstrate the ability to interact and communicate confidently and concisely with various levels of firm management in both written and verbal form..
- Be self-motivated and energic with the ability to work independently within a collaborative team environment.
- Produce high quality work which adheres to the relevant professional standards.
- Be adept at utilizing various tax software as well as Adobe, Word, PowerPoint and Excel.
- An ability to balance between differing tasks and time management.
- Eagerness to contribute to a fast-growing, team environment.
- Ability to work on-site for 40 hours per week (Monday-Friday).
Education and Experience:
- Currently enrolled in Bachelor's degree program in Tax, Accountancy, or related concentration
