POSITION SUMMARY:
Under the general direction of the Branch Executive Director, the Director of Membership co-manages the overall operations of a Family Center, including staff and programs. The Director supervises, develops and implements a partial range of services including Membership, Facilities Management, and Scholarship.
The duties and responsibilities of the Director of Membership have been categorized under the subheadings of finance, budget management and development, staff management/development, membership/program services, fundraising, facility and additional responsibilities.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Finance
- Provides direction and assistance to Family Center staff in the financial planning process.
- Responsible for fiscal management of departmental operations.
- Assist Family Center program and membership leadership and staff in evaluating effectiveness of program services and offerings.
- Assist with the development of the annual Family Center budget incorporating goals established by senior management.
- Oversee and manage the end-to-end processes with insurance companies, ensuring timely and accurate data collection, seamless coordination, and adherence to organizational protocols for proper reimbursement and payment processing.
- Staff Management/Development
- Assist and approve the selection of Membership staff.
- Review and evaluate staff using predetermined goals and objectives.
- Coach and train staff in skill and personal development areas as needed.
- Establish high performance goals and standards, yet realistic work objectives/standards for staff.
- Encourage staff to participate in professional and technical activities, which provide professional and personal growth.
- Communicates policies and procedures to all staff, volunteers.
- Oversee the Child Watch and Club House departments, including the supervision of staff, ensuring adherence to policies, procedures, and best practices to maintain a safe, engaging, and compliant environment for members.
- Membership/Program Services
- Provides strong leadership in developing and implementing major membership strategies: understanding the value of YMCA membership, and the ability to grow and retain members.
- Assist in marketing initiatives to drive membership revenue and bank draft.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to create and implement innovative strategies that enhance the value of membership and elevate the overall experience for members.
- Monitor and analyze membership trends, providing valuable insights to optimize programs and services, ensuring a high level of satisfaction and long-term loyalty and member retention.
- Ensures communication to members is effective and professional.
- Ensures Family Centers Provide excellent quality programs and facilities
- Ensures that all Association programs and services are in keeping with the Vision and support the accomplishment of the Mission
