JOB SUMMARY: Blader
The Blader at Polyvinyl Films Inc. is responsible for operating a stamping machine. This role ensures that the packaging boxes are properly bladed to the specification of our customers, free of defects, and staged properly for downstream packaging processes. The Blader works closely with production and packaging teams to maintain quality standards, meet production goals, and follow all safety regulations related to machine operation and material handling.
RESPONSIBILITIES: Blader
- Operate blading, cutting, or slitting machinery to prepare film boxes according to required sizes and specifications.
- Stack, stage, or palletize cut materials in a manner that prevents damage and ensures efficient flow to packaging stations.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area, following all safety and machine-operation protocols.
- Assist with material handling, including moving film rolls or cut materials to staging areas or packaging lines.
- Monitor blade and machine performance, reporting wear, dullness, or mechanical issues to supervisors.
- Track and report usage, shortages, or inventory needs of cutting materials such as blades, cores, and labels.
- Collaborate with team members to meet production, cutting, and packaging schedules.
- Complete required paperwork and electronic records for cut materials, quality inspections, and production counts.

- Strong attention to detail and precision in cutting.
- Clear communication skills with operators and packaging staff.
- Problem-solving skills for identifying product defects or machine issues.
- Ability to work effectively within a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE: Blader
- High school diploma or GED required.
- 1–2 years’ experience in a manufacturing, converting, packaging, or warehouse environment preferred.
- Experience operating cutting, slitting, or similar machinery is a plus.
- Forklift certification preferred.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Blader
- Ability to lift up to 50lbs independently.
- Ability to stand, walk, and move for extended periods.
- Ability to bend, stoop, twist, and reach while working with film rolls or machinery.
- Ability to operate blading/cutting equipment safely in a fast-paced environment.
- Exposure to dust, loud noise, and temperature variations.
- Required use of personal protective equipment (PPE), including gloves and cut-protection gear.
Salary Range: $18.00 hourly
This range reflects the base salary that Polyvinyl Films Inc. reasonably and in good faith expects to pay for this role, based on current market data. Actual compensation will depend on factors such as relevant experience, skills, education, and internal equity.
