The Position: The Third-Party Logistics (3PL) Operations Specialist is responsible for overseeing day-to-day execution across King Arthur Baking’s national omnichannel 3PL network. This role manages site-level inventory integrity, order fulfillment execution and accuracy, and operational performance to ensure reliable and efficient distribution in support of company service standards and cost. The Specialist monitors receiving, storage, value-added service (VAS) work, and order processing, resolving systemic issues and ensuring data accuracy across ERP, WMS, and OMS systems. This position also evaluates operational KPIs, supports capacity and labor forecasting, maintains accountability for 3PL compliance, and partners with internal teams and external providers to drive continuous improvement.

The Location: Hybrid combining working from home, and onsite in White River Junction VT roughly 2 days per month. Ideal candidates will be located within a 2–3-hour drive of our offices.
The Pay: $54,900 to $74,200 annual salary; commensurate with experience.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Oversee the omnichannel order fulfillment cycle (order transmission to ship) across 3PL sites to ensure customer requirements, service levels, throughput targets, and operational KPIs are met.
- Maintain accountability for site-level operational performance, ensuring 3PL compliance with King Arthur Baking’s requirements, industry best practices, and continuous improvement standards.
- Manage ERP/WMS/OMS data flows with proactive monitoring, leading structured root cause analysis and issue resolution to prevent inventory, order accuracy, and data integrity issues.
- Own site-level inventory accuracy through cycle count execution, reconciliation processes, rotation compliance, and disposition decisions, applying controls consistent with 3PL operations norms.
- Plan and manage value-added service (VAS) projects-including rework, displays, labeling, and gift kits-ensuring materials availability, operational feasibility, and efficient execution within 3PL facilities.
- Evaluate 3PL operational KPIs (order accuracy, fill rate, timeliness, storage utilization, dock performance) and drive corrective action plans to strengthen reliability and partner accountability.
- Contribute to the development and maintenance of standard operating procedures (SOPs) related to 3PL operations, inventory controls, and value-added services to support consistent execution across sites.
- Participate in monthly and quarterly performance reviews with 3PL partners, providing operational insights, identifying cost-impacting or out-of-scope activities, and supporting alignment to service and efficiency expectations.
- Maintain responsibility for packaging and VAS material accuracy, availability, and forecasting across 3PL sites to prevent stockouts and operational delays.
- Prepare and communicate monthly inbound, outbound, and storage forecasts to support labor planning, capacity management, and throughput optimization across the 3PL network.
Experience and Education
- 3+ years expertise with supply chain and 3PL distribution operations, CPG experience preferred.
- 3+yearsfunctional use of Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP), Warehouse Management System (WMS), and Transportation Management System (TMS). SAP S/4HANA experience preferred.
- Supply chain or logistics certification such as APICS, CLTD, or Six Sigma preferred

- Technical System & Database Acumen: Demonstrated experience and expertise in ERP, WMS, TMS, and OMS systems, along with operational understanding of associated system integrations and data flows. Working knowledge of SAP S/4HANA, and experience in advanced analytics tools including Data Cubes and MS Power BI.

Communicates clearly and proactively to align priorities, resolve issues, and deliver shared objectives. - Financial Acumen: Foundational knowledge on role impact to P&L results inclusive of inventory expense, freight, supply chain activity cost drivers, and total cost concept.
- Results-oriented: Proactive problem solving and solution recommendations. Identifies opportunities for improvement and consistency across multiple sites and internal operations.
- Risk Management & Scenario Planning: Anticipates potential supply chain disruptions and evaluates alternative scenarios. Develops and implements mitigation strategies to minimize impact on inventory, cost, and service.
- Process Improvement & Systems Optimization: Continuously seeks opportunities to enhance planning processes and system performance. Champions best practices and leverages technology to drive efficiency and scalability.
- Influencing & Change Management: Guides stakeholders through process changes and system upgrades. Uses expertise and persuasive communication to gain buy-in and ensure successful adoption of new initiatives.
