ABOUT THE ROLE:
In this role, you will be the first point of contact for patients and customers, providing excellent service and support in both administrative and sales functions. You will assist with appointment scheduling, patient check-ins, insurance verification, and eyewear sales, helping our patients find the best eyeglass options for their needs.
FUNCTIONS OF THE POSITION:
- Greeting patients and visitors in a warm and welcoming manner.
- Answer phone calls and respond to emails, scheduling appointments and answering general inquiries.
- Manage patient check-ins and check-outs in a timely and efficient manner.
- Verify all patient demographic and insurance information.
- Verify insurance benefits.
- Maintain a clean and organized front office.
- Manage cash, check, and credit payments accurately and efficiently.
- Reconciles daily batch for payments taken.
OTHER DUTIES:

- Assumes other tasks as assigned
SKILLS REQUIRED FOR SUCCESS:

High School Diploma or Equivalent

Prior office experience preferably in a medical setting

Basic knowledge of computer skills

Basic medical terminology preferred

Strong customer service skills
JOB DIFFICULTY:
- Must be able to provide information regarding office policy and procedure
- Must be able to manage emergency situations in a calm manner
- Must have strong decision-making skills
- Must be able to interpret instructions and prepare records
- Maintains patient confidentiality
ACCOUNTABILITY:
- All actions associated with this position have a direct impact on Community Health Centers
- This position directly influences revenues and cost containment from proper scheduling to correct coding and charge entry and collection of payments
- Must use equipment properly and safely
- Requires troubleshooting of equipment and minor adjustments as needed
- Must learn and practice safety procedures to protect self and others.
- Must follow service excellence guidelines to enable the formation and maintenance of a productive work team
