The Club at New Seabury in Mashpee, MA is looking for an experienced, energetic, and detail-oriented full-time, year-round Events Manager to join our team! Our resort is a premier Private Golf Community with spectacular views of iconic Nantucket Sound. Home to two championship waterfront golf courses, full-service clubhouse, and five restaurants; we embrace the Cape Cod vacation lifestyle.

The ideal candidate will be responsible for day-to-day catering services and the planning, coordination, and execution of various events. By joining our team, you will work independently within a supportive team, assuring members’ and guests’ expectations are exceeded and the highest quality of food service is delivered. The successful candidate must have a positive attitude, be highly organized and able to work in a fast paced, deadline driven environment.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Greet all members, guests and employees in a warm, friendly, service-oriented manner.
  • Be knowledgeable of and comply, at all times, with the Club’s standards, policies and regulations to encourage safe and efficient operations.
  • Assist Director of Event Operations with the hiring of qualified staff.
  • Train and supervise the banquet staff and monitor performance during events.
  • Manage and supervise catered events based on client specifications and documented in the Banquet Event Order (BEO).
  • Partner with Food & Beverage Manager/Director, Chef, Event Operations Director, Catering Sales Director and others to coordinate staffing requirements for events.
  • Supervise the set-up of function rooms to include placement of linens, silver, china, and glassware according to event order specifications or catering function sheets.
  • Visually inspect function rooms and equipment prior to functions to ensure proper cleanliness, inventory, and orderly area.
  • Distribute copies of the function sheets to staff assigned to work events and ensure proper execution.
  • Hold pre-function line-up with the staff to ensure smooth, efficient service.
  • Interpret function diagrams as distributed by Catering Department and ensure staff arrive for work in the designated uniform and are groomed according to Club standards.
  • Verbally communicate, in a calm and positive manner, during the function with the kitchen, service staff, as well as the client / host to ensure timely execution of events and service quality.
  • Assist captains and servers with the execution of events as needed.
  • Supervise clean-up of function room, proper breakdown, and storage of equipment.
  • Consistently follow all food and safety-related requirements.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by manager.
