Job DescriptionWe are looking for a highly skilled and detail-oriented Senior Accountant to join our team on a Contract-to-Permanent basis in Newton, Massachusetts. This role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to complex financial operations and reporting during a transitional phase for the company. The ideal candidate will bring expertise in month-end close processes, reconciliations, and financial system transitions, ensuring accuracy and efficiency in all accounting functions.

Responsibilities:
• Manage month-end close processes, including preparing and reviewing journal entries, reconciliations, and financial statements.
• Oversee the general ledger to ensure accurate and timely posting of financial transactions.
• Perform detailed account reconciliations, including bank reconciliations, to maintain financial integrity.
• Assist with the conversion of financial systems, including transitioning from Great Plains to QuickBooks Desktop.
• Support financial reporting during a reverse merger, ensuring compliance with regulatory and organizational standards.
• Collaborate with internal and external teams to streamline accounting processes and improve operational efficiency.
• Provide expertise in the use of accounting tools such as QuickBooks, Great Plains, and Bill.com.
• Contribute to the eventual transition from QuickBooks to NetSuite by preparing systems and processes for migration.
• Address and resolve discrepancies or issues in financial data with a proactive approach.
• Work closely with auditors during audits to provide required documentation and insights.• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Proven experience in month-end close processes, general ledger accounting, and reconciliations.
• Familiarity with financial system conversions, particularly Great Plains and QuickBooks Desktop.
• Strong proficiency in accounting software such as QuickBooks, Great Plains, and Bill.com.
• Knowledge of financial reporting requirements during mergers or similar transitions.
• Exceptional attention to detail with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment while managing multiple priorities.
• Experience with NetSuite is a plus but not required.
