We are looking for a Full-Time Marine Mechanic to help us in delivering award-winning customer service and creating a unique and memorable experience for our customers. This position will assist the Service Manager in ensuring the success of our Meredith Marina.
Job Summary:
Marine Mechanics will report to the Service Manager and assist in overseeing the day-to-day operations of the Service department. In this position, you will be part of a team that specializes in the maintenance, repair, and detailing of most makes and models of boats. As an Entry Level Marine Mechanic for our company, you gain a vast amount of knowledge and skills by working with some very talented, seasoned Marine Mechanics. This is the perfect job to become a certified Marine Mechanic.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Electrical diagnostics.
- Remove and repair engines, transom or outdrive.
- Disassemble unit and inspect parts for wear.
- Overhaul or replace carburetors, blowers, generators, distributors, starters, pumps, electrical and fuel systems.
- Rebuild parts such as engine cylinder blocks and outdrives.
- Install and repair accessories such as radios and marine electronics.
- Maintain and keep current with all certifications.
- Complete repair work utilizing service scheduler within the established timeframe.
- Maintain internal/external customer satisfaction.
- Maintain internal and external customer satisfaction.
- Attend training and getting certifications with Mercury, Volvo, Mastercraft and Yamaha if needed. (Paid for by Goodhue.)
- Other responsibilities as needed.
Qualifications:
- Astute attention to detail.
- Experience and certifications with manufacturers, like Mercury , Volvo, Yamaha, etc.
- Ability to thoroughly examine boats and effectively communicates the nature and extent of damage or malfunction with the service advisor.
- Perform diagnostics and repair of all types of marine engines and transmissions/drives/systems.
- Strong organizational skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Positive attitude and willingness to learn.
- Ability to provide exceptional customer service.
- Excellent interpersonal and collaborative skills while working both independently and within a team environment.

Physical Requirements:
- Ability to ascend and descend a ladder.
- Ability to work in confined spaces.
- Ability to lift 70 pounds.
Education:
- 2 years experience in repair or service facility or participation and completion of a high school/vocational auto shop program, required.
- Minimum of High School degree or equivalent
- Driver's License, required.
- Boater's License, preferred.
Salary:
- $20.00 - $28.00 per hour - Depending on Experience
