POSITION SUMMARY:
Provides timely and accurate transportation to Carey customers in company vehicles, including commercial vehicles (buses) with a GVWR up to 29,500 lbs, with the highest degree of safety and adherence to the law and company standards at all times. Demonstrates proper safe driving behaviors, etiquette, and courtesy. Provides customer assistance as necessary.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES, RESPONSIBILITIES, AND EXPECTATIONS:
- Transports Carey customers with the highest degree of safety and quality of service at all times, including transport in commercial motor vehicles (buses) with GVWR up to 29,500lbs.
- Assists customers by loading and unloading luggage into/out of bus being driven.
- Obeys all traffic rules.
- Demonstrates proper courtesy to customers, the public in general, and business colleagues.
- Conforms to company dress and grooming standards, as directed.
- Receives and properly interprets reservation information, and acts accordingly.
- Completes all trip assignments timely and in accordance with service standards.
- Is on time for all assigned trips and maintains a 15-minute Spot Time.
- Maintains communication with dispatch, advising of potential delays and any other issues of importance.
- Maintains proficiency with the cell phone/radio and other communications systems used for communication between chauffeurs and dispatch.
- Completes paperwork for each trip accurately and legibly and timely.
- Maintains all assigned equipment in good working order, and uses it for business purposes only.
- Reports for duty well-rested and alert.
- Maintains alertness during entire shift.
- Other duties as assigned.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
Education: High School Graduate or GED required.
Experience: One (1) year of customer service experience and/or professional driving experience.
Must have driving experience for at least eight (8) continuous years.
Other Requirements:
- Must have and maintain a valid and up-to-date class B Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with passenger endorsement from the state in which he/she will be employed by the company.
- Must demonstrate the physical ability to drive a commercial vehicle (bus) with a GVWR up to 29,500 pounds.
- Must have and maintain a clean driving record, meeting company standards.
- Must pass pre-employment drug and alcohol tests, post-employment random drug and alcohol tests, with both drug and alcohol testing at least once a year after hire.
Skills:
- Must have good reading, writing, and verbal communication skills in the English language.
- Must have and maintain a clean driving record and valid class B commercial driver’s license.
- Knowledge of the geographic area around the assigned office.
- Ability to operate company-standard radio/phone and other communications systems used for communication with the dispatch department.

Physical Requirements:
- Able to sit for long periods of time, operating a vehicle with attention to safety.
- Able to see and hear clearly both during the day and at night.
- Able to speak the English language in a manner easily understood by customers and co-workers.
- Able to write clearly and accurately in the English language.
- Able to lift baggage weighing up to 50 lbs. to a height of 3-4 feet to load into, and unload out of, a company bus.
Personal Appearance:
- For men: Hair must be clean and appropriately styled, with length above the collar. Facial hair is not preferred, however, if worn, it must be trimmed and groomed to the contour of the face.
- For women: Hair must be clean and appropriately styled away from the face. Hair ornaments are not preferred, but if used should be conservative and with the purpose to hold hair in place.
- Oral and personal hygiene should be clean and non-offensive.
- Jewelry is permitted only in moderation, such as a watch and wedding band.
- Company prescribed dress standards are required.
- Must wear a company-provided photo ID during all working hours.

WORKING CONDITIONS:
General Working Conditions: Works primarily outside the office, driving in a company-provided vehicle. Works closely with others.
