Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Senior Accountant who brings strong technical accounting skills and the confidence to operate as a true senior-level contributor. This role will take full ownership of the general ledger, including setup, mapping, reconciliation, and ongoing maintenance. The ideal candidate will play a key role in supporting our current Sage environment and helping guide an eventual migration to SAP.
Key Responsibilities
- Own and manage the full general ledger (GL), including structure, mapping, account setup, and monthly close activities.
- Prepare and review journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial statements with a high degree of accuracy.
- Support the design and optimization of accounting processes, driving improvements in efficiency and control.
- Serve as a key participant in the upcoming ERP transition from Sage to SAP, contributing to planning, data mapping, testing, and implementation.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams—including finance, operations, and IT—to ensure accurate financial reporting and system alignment.
- Provide guidance and oversight to junior accounting staff as needed.
- Maintain compliance with internal policies and external reporting requirements.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required.
- Strong accounting foundation, with proven experience at the senior accountant level.
- Hands-on experience owning and managing the GL, including setup and mapping.
- Experience with Sage and/or SAP preferred; willingness to support and learn within both systems is essential.
- Retail industry experience preferred but not required.
- Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to partner effectively across teams.
