Position Overview: (Staff Scientist/Sr. Staff Scientist)

We are seeking a highly motivated individual who thrives in a dynamic, fast-paced, team-oriented and collaborative environment to be part of our success in the preclinical pharmacology group.

The successful candidate will design and conduct in vivo experiments focusing on i) the molecular pathways regulating tissue injury and repair and ii) the evaluation of tool compounds and therapeutic agents to treat diseases with high unmet medical needs. A proven track record in in vivo disease models and conducting studies to evaluate efficacy and mechanism of action of potential therapeutic agents is critical. Experience in at least one in vivo disease model and a willingness to learn about additional models is expected. The candidate must have strong written and oral communication skills, be self-motivated, a team player and able to work independently.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Lead projects providing scientific, technical and strategic input to support new and established projects for key go/no go decision
  • Independently design, develop, and execute in-vivo and ex-vivo study to evaluate efficacy and mechanism of action of therapeutic candidates in related therapeutic areas
  • Work with cross-functional groups to bring research stage molecules to clinical development
  • Prepare, present and review scientific presentations for internal/external use
  • Maintain sustained lines of communication across research teams


Basic Qualifications:

  • Ph.D. degree in cell biology, pharmacology, or related discipline with a minimum of 1-3 years of post-doctoral experience in academia or industry
  • Strong skills in designing and implementing in-vivo pharmacological and mechanistic studies to evaluate signaling pathways and efficacy/mechanism of action of potential therapeutic targets in preclinical models
  • In-depth knowledge and proven scientific track-record in understanding pathophysiology of vascular and metabolic diseases is preferred
  • Self-motivated, open-minded and innovative team player with strong problem-solving skills
  • Must be hands on in the lab as well as able to work collaboratively in a cross-functional and team-based environment
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
