About the Role:
The Gasoline Attendant plays a crucial role in ensuring a safe, efficient, and pleasant fueling experience for customers at service stations across the United States. This position involves operating fuel pumps, handling payments, and providing excellent customer service to meet the needs of diverse clientele. The attendant is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and safety of the fueling area, promptly addressing any hazards or spills to prevent accidents. Additionally, the role requires monitoring fuel inventory and reporting any discrepancies or equipment malfunctions to management. Ultimately, the Gasoline Attendant contributes to the smooth operation of the station while fostering a welcoming environment that encourages customer loyalty.
Minimum Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Ability to operate fuel dispensing equipment safely and follow safety guidelines.
- Basic math skills to handle transactions and provide correct change.
- Strong communication skills to interact effectively with customers and team members.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and perform physical tasks such as lifting light equipment or cleaning.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Previous experience in a customer service or retail environment.
- Familiarity with safety regulations related to handling flammable liquids.
- Basic knowledge of vehicle types and fueling requirements.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
Responsibilities:
- Operate fuel dispensing equipment safely and efficiently to assist customers with refueling their vehicles.
- Process customer payments accurately, including cash, credit, and debit transactions, while providing receipts and change as needed.
- Maintain cleanliness and orderliness of the fueling area, including picking up litter, cleaning spills, and ensuring safety protocols are followed.
- Provide friendly and professional customer service by answering questions, offering assistance, and addressing customer concerns promptly.
- Monitor fuel levels and equipment functionality, reporting any issues or safety hazards to supervisors immediately.
