Gunstock Mountain Resort is now hiring an Assistant Outreach Coordinator for the winter season. This position will support the goals and objectives of the Gunstock Mountain Resort Snowsports School by assisting with the planning, coordination, and execution of the Outreach Program.
This position is part-time (20 hours) beginning in September and hours will incrementally increase to approximately 35 hours by mid-October. While we offer alternative flexible scheduling, this position is mostly Monday – Friday and requires evening and occasional weekend availability. The position could evolve into seasonal full-time for the right person.
You will spend most of your time:
- Communicating (by phone, email & in-person) with Program Coordinators, families, and other Gunstock departments on all facets of the Outreach Program.
- Completing ongoing administrative tasks related to on-boarding programs; initiating and monitoring the student registration process; setting up each program in Google Sheets; setting up lesson groups; and updating and printing lesson rosters and Instructor assignments for each program every day.
- Ensuring all waivers are signed, photos uploaded and RFID cards picked-up prior to start of program.
- Process sales and refunds as necessary; update program rosters; and communicate changes.
- Work closely with the Outreach Program Coordinator, Snowsports School, Rental Department and Ticket Office to deliver an exceptional guest experience.
- Greet Program Coordinators, students, and instructors at the lesson flags to take attendance, help navigate where they belong; and ensure all lessons go out on time.
- Other duties include answering phones, greeting guests, troubleshooting online transactions, data entry, POS testing and reporting.
You will be spending SOME of your time:
- Teaching as needed using the PSIA & AASI Teaching Methodology to provide guests with a professional ski or snowboard learning environment that encourages skill development appropriate for the guests’ ability level.
- Upon lesson assignment, meet and greet Snowsports School guests in a timely and professional manner; ensure students are matched to appropriate skill level and work with supervisors/managers to make appropriate changes when necessary.
- Assist students with transporting ski/ride equipment to learning terrain as needed; educate them on proper load/unload procedures for chairlifts and carpet lifts.
- Maintain a strong working knowledge of all snowsports programs offered by the Snowsports School, as well as general knowledge of Gunstock’s overall operation.
- Continuously model safe behavior and take appropriate action to address or report hazards; always follow the Skier and Rider Responsibility Code when skiing/riding at the resort.
