Summary Supervises and coordinates all activities of the dispatch department, supports dispatch team with dispatching duties, engaged in dispatch software for on time pick up/ delivery performance, and personnel and billing administrative duties. All dispatch staff report to the Operations Supervisor.
Work Schedule Tuesday - Saturday
10:00am - 6:30pm
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Monitor and manage on demand and routed dispatch screens.
- Coordinate dispatch and driving training for new hires.
- Coordinate new hire orientations and trainings.
- Conduct annual performance reviews for dispatchers.
- Manage dispatch team schedule.
- Review billing from dispatchers weekly.
- Coach dispatchers and drivers when necessary.
- Review/update route manifests.
- Review driver availability and help mitigate overtime hours.
- Confirm all emails are responded within 30 minutes.
- Confirm all afterhours email and phone orders have been billed.
- Review dispatch software each morning and investigate and resolve any late orders.
- Manage employee of the month recognition program.
- Monitor driver’s safety score.
- Record and file events as they come up.
- Review/update phone list and dispatch binder.
- Ensure route board is up to date.
- Keep inventory of supplies for office.
- Verify driver initials on schedule.
- Assist in pulling/shuttling vehicles for maintenance.
- Manage afterhours dispatchers.
- Backup to the parts/warehouse department.
- Manage the office cleaning schedule.
- Manage weekly dispatch meetings.
- Cover as the on-call manager every weekend.
- Assist in scheduling and covering callouts.
- Cover routes when needed.
- Reports to the Operations Manager.
