POSITION DESCRIPTION:
Think Tank is a woman-owned small business with more than 27 years of proven success delivering exceptional marine and fisheries services to the federal government. We are currently seeking an ideal candidate for the position of Photogrammetry Analyst to support an upcoming proposal with the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration. The Photogrammetry Analyst supports marine species research through the analysis of aerial and vessel-based images and video to estimate body size, health status, and species identification. This position contributes critical data to population assessments, ecological modeling, and conservation strategies for protected species.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Process high-resolution aerial and vessel-based imagery for species detection, measurement, and identification.
- Apply photogrammetric techniques to estimate size, morphometrics, and behavior of marine mammals and sea turtles.
- Perform data calibration and correction using known references or scale markers.
- Organize, archive, and document metadata and analytical outputs in accordance with NOAA protocols.
- Collaborate with survey teams and analysts to support field campaigns and ensure photogrammetry standards are met.
- Contribute to technical reports, scientific publications, and presentations.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor's or advanced degree in marine biology, remote sensing, geospatial sciences, or related field.
- Experience in photogrammetric software (e.g., Agisoft Metashape, Pix4D, ImageJ) and GIS platforms.
- Knowledge of aerial survey techniques and marine species morphology
- Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and in field environments, including aboard ships or aircraft
