Phillips Academy seeks an experienced Director of Advancement Services to lead a key operational team within the Office of Academy Resources (OAR). This is an administrator role that manages critical functions including gift processing, constituent data maintenance, pledge management, reporting, and database oversight to support the Academy’s fundraising and engagement goals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead a team of 4, including 3 direct reports, in managing core advancement operations
  • Oversee the integrity, accuracy, and strategic use of donor and gift data
  • Partner with finance, IT, and campus departments to ensure smooth integration and accurate gift accounting
  • Drive data reporting, policy development, and continuous process improvement
  • Play a central role in the Academy’s upcoming CRM transition to Salesforce

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • 4–6 years of experience in advancement services or related field
  • Proven leadership and team management skills
  • Strong knowledge of donor databases, gift processing, and data security
  • Experience with CRM systems (Ascend/Salesforce preferred) and managing complex data/reporting
  • Familiarity with CASE guidelines, IRS regulations, and nonprofit finance practices

Additional Info:

  • Strong communication, analytical, and project management skills are essential
  • Occasional evening and weekend work required, particularly during year-end periods
  • Hybrid (up to 2 remote days/week after training)
