SUMMARY

The Assistant Branch Manager assists the Branch Manager in retail branch operations, along with supervising the retail branch staff.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Answer member related inquiries, and resolve member-related issues.
  • Promote good NBCU member relations. Know the members.
  • Open and close accounts.
  • Promote and demonstrate electronic account information delivery systems to new members.
  • Answer telephone inquiries.
  • Initiate auto, home, and personal loans — and assist borrowers with the loan application process.
  • Deliver starter checks so to quickly address member needs.
  • Cross-sell to members all available credit union services that satisfies member needs (e.g. IRAs; credit cards; money market accounts; safe deposit boxes, etc.).
  • Monitor individual sales goals, facilitate the adoption by staff members of sales strategies that foster a positive sales environment, and coach the staff to achieve their individual sales goals. Assist the Branch Manager in maintaining related sales performance documentation.
  • Ensure that branch staff is adhering to all security procedures, and that building maintenance issues are reported and corrected.
  • Assist and provide feedback in retail staff performance appraisals.
  • Monitor and coordinate staff scheduling with the Retail Services Supervisor.
  • Provide notary services to members, as needed.
  • Maintain a cash drawer, so to facilitate assisting tellers when the branch is busy.
  • Execute Chex Systems and OFAC inquiries.
  • Verify weekly branch cash and ATM shipments.
  • Monitor/order branch office supplies.
  • Attend NBCU meetings as required.
  • Attend meetings and seminars related to the Credit Union's retail services and branch-related supervisory duties.
  • Open and close the branch office ― and execute daily retail operations in accordance with credit union policies and procedures.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Compliance with Bank Secrecy Act, OFAC and USA PATRIOT Act including Member Identification Program for new members, accurate completion of new account activity profile, identifying high risk accounts at account opening, and reporting suspicious activities to the BSA Officer. Accurate completion of CTR, Monetary Instrument log, and reporting of suspicious activities to supervisor.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • High school Diploma or GED
  • Minimum of two (2) years cash-handling experience is required.
  • Minimum of two (2) years of customer service is required.
  • Minimum of two (2 years of supervisory/management experience is preferred.
  • Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in consumer and/or mortgage lending is preferred.
  • Prior teller experience preferred.
