QUALIFICATIONS FOR OUR DIRECTOR OF CHILDREN'S RESIDENTIAL OPERATIONS
- Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Psychology, Human Services, or related field
- 5+ years of progressive experience in Human Services or equivalent
- Training in PBS, Trauma-Informed Care, and ABA strategies preferred
- CPR, First Aid, MAP, and non-violent physical intervention certifications preferred
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
- Active driver's license in the current state of residence with good standing
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
- Ability to learn and use software for HRIS and other systems
- Ability to complete physical tasks such as: standing, walking, lifting, bending, and reaching
- Comfortable with exposure to various environments, including outdoors and animals
- Strong communication skills; able to interact with diverse individuals
- Ability to manage emotional stress and maintain professionalism
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends
- On-call responsibilities may be required
A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A DIRECTOR OF CHILDREN'S RESIDENTIAL OPERATIONS
When you join our team as a Director of Children's Residential Operations, you can expect to spend your day checking in on the children's residential programs, ensuring every home feels safe, welcoming, and supportive. Additionally, you visit different residences, observing how services are delivered and identifying opportunities for improvement. You lead team meetings, mentor Assistant Directors and House Managers, and make sure everyone has the tools and guidance they need to succeed. When challenges arise, whether it's staffing adjustments, incident reporting, or compliance updates, you handle them with confidence and clarity. You collaborate with nursing, HR, and other departments to keep programs fully staffed and residents healthy and thriving. By the end of the day, you've balanced budgets, strengthened partnerships, and reinforced a culture of excellence that makes a real difference in the lives of children with disabilities and their families.
