You will play a pivotal role in the People and Culture department by identifying, attracting, and hiring the diverse talent needed to provide exceptional service to our community.

Key Responsibilities

Recruiting & Candidate Experience

  • Serves as a brand ambassador for Rockland Federal Credit Union, ensuring a positive, respectful, and engaging experience for all candidates — whether selected or not.
  • Supports the full recruitment lifecycle, from job posting through offer and pre-hire activities.
  • Collaborates with hiring managers and HR leadership to understand staffing needs and job requirements.
  • Prepares and posts job openings internally and externally using the applicant tracking system (ATS).
  • Sources candidates through job boards, social media, referrals, networking, and other sourcing channels.
  • Screens applications and conducts initial candidate outreach and phone screenings as appropriate.
  • Coordinates interviews, communicates next steps, and maintains timely, professional communication with candidates throughout the process.
  • Extends offers and prepares offer letters under the direction of HR leadership.
  • Conducts reference checks and coordinates pre-employment screenings.

Onboarding Support

  • Assists with new hire onboarding activities, including coordinating start dates and pre-employment paperwork.
  • Completes I-9 verification via E-Verify and ensures required documentation is collected and processed accurately.
  • Creates and maintains new hire personnel files within the HRIS system.
  • Supports New Hire Orientation logistics and coordination.
  • Partners with managers and the HR team to ensure a smooth and welcoming transition for new employees.

Systems, Compliance & Reporting

  • Maintains accurate and up-to-date records in the applicant tracking system and HRIS.
  • Ensures recruiting practices comply with applicable employment laws and regulations, including EEOC requirements.
  • Assists with recruitment metrics, reporting, and data tracking as requested.
  • Supports internal audits and regulatory reporting related to recruiting and onboarding activities.

Employer Brand & Outreach

  • Assists with promoting career opportunities through external channels such as LinkedIn, the RFCU website, and community outreach efforts.
  • Participates in career fairs and recruitment events as needed to promote RFCU as an employer of choice.

Team & Culture Engagement

  • Actively supports team and organizational initiatives that strengthen the Credit Union’s culture and employee experience.
  • Contributes positively to HR team collaboration and continuous improvement efforts

Talent Acquisition, Onboarding & Talent Development Support

  • Supports the full talent acquisition process, including internal job postings, applicant tracking, interview coordination, and background/reference checks
  • Prepares offer letters, new hire packets, and processes employee referral bonuses
  • Assists with new employee orientation, HRIS setup, personnel file creation, and benefits enrollment
  • Completes new hire and termination checklists
  • Reports new hires to the Talent Development team to ensure enrollment in New Employee Orientation
  • Assists the Talent Development team, as needed, with the coordination of new hire orientation and training to ensure a smooth and welcoming onboarding experience
  • May provide occasional support to the Talent Development team during the annual employee performance review cycle.

Qualifications

  • 2+ years of full cycle recruiting experience (experience in banking or credit unions is a huge plus!).
  • An innate ability to read people, build rapport quickly, and communicate with clarity and empathy.
  • Proficiency with Applicant Tracking Systems (ADP preferred) and a knack for leveraging data to improve hiring metrics.
  • High attention to detail and communication skills compatible with a professional environment.
  • Ability to adapt and pivot quickly to shifting business needs.

In alignment with our commitment to pay transparency, we're pleased to share that the base salary range for this position is $60,000 - $75,000, excluding fringe benefits or potential incentives. If you're hired at Rockland Federal Credit Union, your final base pay will be determined based on factors such as skills, education, and experience. We also take pay equity seriously and consider the internal equity of our current team members as part of any final offer. Please note that the range provided reflects the full base pay for this role. We also offer a comprehensive compensation and benefits package designed to support your overall well-being and success.
