Supply Chain Manager (Manufacturing)

Location: Leominster, MA (On-site)
Employment Type: Direct Hire | Full-time
Schedule: Monday Friday, 7:30 AM 4:00 PM (flexible)

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Supply Chain Manager to oversee all materials management activities within a leading manufacturing environment specializing in automated machinery for the pharmaceutical sector. This role will provide critical leadership across procurement, warehouse, and import/export operations, ensuring seamless material flow, optimal inventory levels, and high standards in vendor performance.

Key Responsibilities

Procurement & Vendor Management

  • Oversee all procurement activities, including vendor selection, price negotiation, and purchase order management
  • Maintain accurate purchasing records and vendor performance documentation
  • Identify and implement cost-saving opportunities in collaboration with cross-functional teams

Import/Export & Logistics

  • Ensure compliance with all applicable tax, tariff, and trade regulations
  • Coordinate with carriers and freight partners to guarantee timely and accurate deliveries
  • Expedite urgent orders as needed to meet production and customer deadlines

Warehouse & Inventory Oversight

  • Supervise all shipping, receiving, and stockroom functions for efficient and accurate material handling
  • Step in to assist with picking, packing, and receiving as required
  • Monitor and adjust safety stock levels in line with usage trends and just-in-time practices

Leadership & Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Lead, mentor, and develop a team across warehouse, purchasing, and logistics functions
  • Partner closely with Engineering, Production, and Planning teams to ensure materials availability and drive process improvement
  • Participate in production planning meetings to provide material readiness updates

Quality & Continuous Improvement

  • Investigate defective parts, collaborate with vendors to implement corrective actions, and prevent future quality issues
  • Stay current with industry developments and recommend technologies or processes to improve efficiency

Other

  • Perform additional duties as assigned in support of materials management and organizational objectives

Candidate Profile: Must-Haves

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in materials management within a manufacturing environment (covering procurement through shipping)
  • Strong understanding of import/export regulations, tariffs, and taxes
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and ERP systems
  • Prior leadership or people management experience
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs as needed
