Mass Tank – Middleboro, MA
Mass Tank is seeking an experienced ASME Pressure Vessel Welder / Fabricator to join our steel fabrication team in Middleboro, MA. This role is ideal for a highly skilled welder with direct experience fabricating and welding ASME-coded pressure vessels in a shop environment.
The successful candidate will play a critical role in producing high-quality, code-compliant vessels used in industrial and regulated applications. This position requires a strong understanding of ASME Section VIII requirements, welding procedures, and quality expectations typical of certified pressure vessel fabrication shops.
Key Responsibilities
- Fabricate and weld ASME pressure vessels in accordance with approved drawings, WPSs, and job travelers
- Perform welding processes including (but not limited to) GMAW, GTAW, and SMAW on carbon steel and stainless steel
- Read and interpret ASME fabrication drawings, weld symbols, and specifications
- Follow qualified Welding Procedure Specifications (WPS) and maintain compliance with ASME Section IX requirements
- Fit-up shells, heads, nozzles, and attachments to ASME tolerances
- Work closely with Quality Control to support inspections, NDE, and code documentation
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area in accordance with shop safety standards
- Participate in continuous improvement of fabrication and welding processes
Required Qualifications
- Direct experience fabricating and welding ASME pressure vessels (required)
- Proven experience working in an ASME-certified fabrication shop
- Ability to pass or maintain ASME welding qualifications
- Strong understanding of:

- Fit-up and dimensional tolerances for pressure vessels
- High attention to detail and quality-focused mindset
- Strong work ethic, reliability, and ability to work as part of a fabrication team
