PURCHASING UNIT
MANAGER
New Hampshire Ball Bearing’s Astro Division is located in Laconia,
NH—heart of the scenic Lakes Region. Astro is a World-Class 440+
person, climate-controlled advanced manufacturing facility producing
high precision metal aerospace components.
Position will manage all aspects of Purchasing to efficiently and
cost-effectively support organizational operations.
Core responsibilities and competencies:
Negotiating, analytical and problem solving skills
Develop and maintain strategic relationships with key suppliers and vendors
Manage risk relating to quality, cost, delivery and supply of purchases
Direct continuous improvement of purchasing processes in line with
changing needs and market conditions
Develop and manage purchasing budgets and forecasts
Monitor supplier and vendor compliance with contractual agreements
Strong computer skills
Knowledge with Automated Manufacturing Systems (MRP - ERP)
Self-motivated with strong sense of urgency and commitment to meeting
deadlines
International Supply Chain Management experience
Experience in VMI
Seven years progressive management and supervisory experience in a fast-
paced manufacturing environment
Bachelor’s degree required in business, materials management, operations
management or related field. APICS-Purchasing Certification a plus
