The Technology Specialist I provides front-line technology support to the faculty, staff, and students of Middlebury College. This position receives, diagnoses, and either resolves or escalates users’ problems and questions regarding operating systems and hardware, software applications, media equipment and services, web services, ERP, and other administrative systems.
This is a full time, benefits-eligible hourly position with a hiring range of $28.14-$35.19 per hour.
Core Responsibilities:

<li>Work in a wide range of settings, including Walkin, phone, email, zoom and chat. A first point of contact for customer technology issues, operations issues, and transactions such as printer malfunctions, system access, and password reset. </li>

Requirements

<li>Associates degree or equivalent with broad liberal arts knowledge and strong customer service experience. </li>
</ul>

<li>Working knowledge of printing, Windows and Macintosh hardware, operating systems and applications required. Working knowledge of the Internet and electronic communications software required. </li>
<li>3 years of progressively responsible experience in a customer service role, preferably in a Service Desk and information services setting </li>

We’re hiring immediately! This isn't your typical entry-level retail position. Whether you're just starting out or have years of sales experience, you can earn $16.00 to $21.00 per hour in base pay, plus up to $16,000 a year in individual-based commissions if you hit all your sales goals. Planning to go above and beyond? With our commission program, the opportunities are unlimited for employees who exceed their sales goals. Top performers could make an extra $14,500 or more in individual-based commissions, giving you the chance to earn a total of $65,000+ to $73,500+ annually. Compensation varies by geography, hours worked, and performance.

What we’re looking for...
You’ll need to have:

<li>
High school diploma or GED.
</li>
<li>
One or more years of relevant experience required, demonstrated through work experience and/or military experience.
</li>
<li>
Willingness to work evenings, weekends, and holidays (you'll know your schedule four weeks in advance).
</li>
<li>
Openness to pick up additional shifts and earn more income, typically during the summer months, November through December, and/or during peak vacation periods. 
</li>
</ul>
Even better if you have one or more of the following:

Experience working in a commission-based environment.
</li>
<li>
Demonstrated sales experience communicating with customers to find solutions. 
</li>
<li>
Customer service experience.
</li>
