<li>Build and debug progressive and transfer tooling and automated machinery to prints and specifications</li>
<li>Create jigs or fixtures, which are used to hold metal in place when it is stamped or drilled</li>

<li>Following a tool design/blueprint plan measure the metal pieces for cutting, drilling or boring, and continually verify that the tool meets the specifications</li>

Required Skills and Experience

Residential Counselor
The Residential Counselor serves as a therapeutic agent to young children and adolescents with social, emotional, and behavioral needs, at both of our residential programs. Under the direction of the Program Manager and/or members of leadership team, Clinician, Assistant Program Manager, and Clinical Case Manager, the residential counselor is responsible for directly working with the youth to create, implement, develop, and maintain a strong and supportive and trauma informed relationship. In addition, The Residential Counselor is responsible for directly engaging the youth in daily activities, working in groups, and implementing the daily routine. As a member of the interdisciplinary treatment team, the Residential Counselor will collaborate with the clinical staff to ensure the objectives of the individual treatment plans are being met.

The SHARP Residential Program is designed to support youth (ages 13-18) who identify within the LGBTQIA+ community. This specialty residential program supports youth who have experienced trauma, with moderate to severe mental health and behavioral health challenges and may be struggling with their personal identity.

About This Position Boston Nature Center is seeking compassionate, enthusiastic individuals to support staff to foster experiential nature-based learning for campers at our Mattapan and Jamaica Plain camp locations. We aim to promote positive youth development, stewardship for the environment, and a respectful and inclusive safe space for all our campers. 
Duties &amp; Responsibilities 
<ul>
<li>Serve as a vital bridge between camp staff and the camp director</li>
<li>Assist with development and teaching of pre-camp and in-service trainings</li>
<li>Lead and participate in daily meeting and planning sessions with other staff</li>
<li>Create and maintain a physically and emotionally safe environment for campers and staff; make independent safety decisions when needed and abide by and enforce camp policies</li>
<li>Lead, motivate, and evaluate staff in a positive environment</li>
<li>Assist with the directing day-to-day camp activities and supervising of camp staff</li>
<li>Assist with and delegate housekeeping tasks</li>
<li>Assist in regular communications with camper families including, but not limited to: photo taking/upload, blog posts, daily letters, drop off and pick up, phone calls home</li>
<li>Utilize First Aid/CPR skills as necessary according to camp’s standing medical orders</li>
<li>Lead and participate in all camp activities such as opening and closing circle, all camp games, and camp clean up</li>
<li>Address conflicts, concerns, questions, and issues with campers, caregivers and staff</li>
<li>Substitute teach as necessary</li>
<li>Additional related duties may be requested, such as overseeing Counselor in Training programs</li>

Required qualifications as per Massachusetts Department of Public Health (MA DPH) regulations, American Camp Association standards and Mass Audubon Policy:

<li>Must be at least 21 years of age</li>
<li>At least two seasons of experience working as part of an administrative staff at a recreational camp for children</li>
<li>Provide documented proof of immunity or vaccination record as mandated by MADPH; complete camp health form and waiver</li>
<li>Hold current First Aid and CPR certifications or participate in Mass Audubon provided training to obtain certification prior to the beginning of camp</li>
<li>Willing to be outdoors for several hours per day in most weather conditions</li>
<li>Ability to physically access sanctuary terrain and trails easily by foot</li>
<li>Ability to effectively interact with others, especially children, in camp’s youth-centered environment</li>
<li>Ability to adapt to changes in schedule and work assignment</li>
</ul>
Desired Qualifications 
<ul>
<li>Experience working in nature-based learning environments</li>
<li>Strong interest or related education experience in Environmental Studies, Biology, Conservation, Education, or related field</li>
<li>Familiarity with regional natural history, wildlife conservation, or other applicable natural history topics</li>
</ul>
Work Schedule This position starts May 26th, 2026 at 5 to 10 hours per week remote and/or in person until June 10th. Camp staff training will be held from June 10th through June 19th, 2026. Camp runs from June 22nd through August 29th, 2026. Hours for this position starting June 10th are Monday through Friday, 8:30 AM – 4:30 PM
 
Compensation and Benefits This position’s pay range is $21.50-$24.00 per hour; actual pay will be determined based on experience level, qualifications relative to position requirements, and location of the position. This is not a benefits eligible position.

Training Requirements All Mass Audubon Camp Staff undergo mandatory training prior to interacting with campers. Training includes: Natural History, Lesson Planning, Behavior Management, Games, and more.
