Summary: The Developmental Specialist 3 will provide support and assistance in Level 3 day habilitation programs. Staff will provide support to individuals who need daily intervention, supervision, and skills training in activities of daily living within a day program environment and in the community. Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

<li>Provide services to individuals according to DDS, DMH, MassHealth, HUD, DPH, CARF, and all applicable regulatory standards as well as Bridgewell policies and procedures.</li>
<li>Plan and implement an individualized program, based on each individual's needs following their Day Habilitation Service Plan.</li>
<li>Supervise the implementation of the Day Habilitation Service Plan and maintain the individual records in eHana.</li>
<li>Administer and interpret assessments to determine each individual's skill level on an annual basis.</li>
<li>Teach skills to individuals and small groups for training in designated areas.</li>
<li>Develop adaptive equipment and jigs to ensure individuals attain goals.</li>
<li>Assist people in making decisions about their daily routine/activities.</li>
<li>Assure that people have access to communication with family, friends, and significant others.</li>
<li>Ensure participation in community events, including attendance at volunteer sites, libraries, YMCAs, and any particular place of interest to them.</li>

<li>Shares and encourages persons to participate in the completion of domestic tasks, assisting in the overall maintenance/upkeep of the program/supported living offering a safe clean and comfortable and safe environment for treatment to take place.</li>
<li>Shows consideration and flexibility to support scheduled and emergent needs that occur within the ACCS system.</li>

<li>One year full-time experience in providing direct care service to mentally ill consumers preferred.</li>

Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) are part of a team that provides community-based support to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. This is done one-on-one or part of a group. The support provided promotes overall community involvement and independence for the individuals we support. The support is tailored to the goals of each individual based on their individual service agreement. Activities may include, but are not limited to, yoga, pottery, cooking, music, volunteering, and physical fitness. 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

<li>Always ensure the health and safety of members. </li>
<li>Provide instructional support while assisting members with the implementation of their yearly individual service agreement, while encouraging independence. </li>
<li>Promote quality community connections for members while seeking and developing opportunities for new experiences and connections. </li>
<li>Timely completion of all required paperwork (i.e., email correspondence, daily notes, mileage logs, timecards, progress notes, and incident reports). </li>
<li>Provide transportation for members in the community, often using your own personal vehicle (mileage is reimbursed). </li>
<li>Be a positive role model with strong advocacy toward member rights and choice. </li>
<li>Attend and participate in all required meetings (i.e., staff meetings, ISA meetings). </li>
<li>Support individuals of all abilities, including those with personal care needs and behavioral accommodations. DSPs will be trained accordingly and should have a firm understanding of the requirements of the member(s) they are supporting.  </li>
<li>Exposure to bodily fluids, noting that Great Bay Services uses universal precautions. </li>
